Chelsea's Development

Chelsea is now 2 mths plus, next week she'll be 3 mth old !
As of now, she can recognize me, papa, ah ma and yi po...she loves to talk to us. Every morning when she wakes up, she loves to make funny and cute sounds, and we'll respond by talking to her. Obviously we have no idea what the conversation is about, but somehow, it's really fun !
She also likes to stand. When we place her on our laps, she'll use her mighty legs to lift herself up ! When we feed her with the bottle, she'll open up both her hands and hold on to it.
Awww...life is so great with Chelsea around.

The Greatest Poo of All

Being a mom really makes me worry abt the slightest thing.
Chelsea didn't poo for the entire day...i started to wonder whether she has constipation, why her tummy looks so bloated etc...and began to really worry worry worry...
Finally, just now, she POOED ! It was a big one....and I've never been happier seeing the poo and cleaning her up.

Welcome to Motherhood

It's really funny how things turned out in the end.

I was so upset initially cuz my gynae told me he's going overseas for a conference during my due date ! Argh..how can that happen to me ? I was left with 2 choices: either induce baby at 38 weeks or i could wait till full-term, but be delivered by another gynae. I was totally confused. Part of me wanted to wait, but part of me wanted to be delivered by someone I'm familiar with.

The last check-up showed that my water level was getting low, so doc said I have to induce. Okie, so I was all set to go into hospital for the process on 5th Sept 10pm, so baby will be born on 6th Sept. But soemhow, baby has her own timing, or rather, God has a plan. I was so kan-jiong on 4th Sept night i thought my water bag broke. Kit Kit drove me to hospital, the nurses checked and told me my water bag didn't break. My doc told me to stay overnight so that he could just check me the next morning. Alright....then ! I started having contractions...blah blah blah, and after 12 hrs of labour, baby Chelsea was born on 5th Sept 2.54pm !

So, here I am, 2 weeks into Motherhood, and still surviving...Chelsea gave me a big smile this afternoon, and my heart almost melted. Didn't have time to take many photos yet, but surely, there'll be many chances in future. In fact, Chelsea looks a little different now. =)

Divine Intervention

I cannot believe it...today everyone has been congratulating me. I'm gonna enjoy all the baby perks as everything has been back-dated to Aug 17th ! Wow...i certainly didn't expect this, but a pleasant surprise. God really heard my prayers.
And when i opened the fridge just now, i saw a pack of sweets that i bought in Hokkaido last yr. I was shocked. The first thing to hit me when i saw the pack is that God has planned my pregnancy right from the start, and He'd even named my child, just that I didn't realize....yupz, the name of the pack of sweets is called "CHELSEA"......

Missed

So near yet so far...missed the enhanced baby perks completely. Missed the 4 mth maternity leave, extra 1k of cash bonus, and the Child Devt Account....*sad*......
36 weeks now, in fact, Chelsea can come out any moment ! I am disappointed, but i guess...nothing beats seeing my baby healthy and safe.

Pregnancy Ups and Downs

So far so good, I have had quite a blessed pregnancy so far, thank God. But as i approach the last stage, my hands are like getting numb. Every morning when I wake up, i can't bend my hands, and it's getting into the way of my daily activities like holding utensils or marking books. Doc said it's normal, it'll disappear after delivery.
I just have to perservere...and i'm now approaching 34 weeks....really soon, I'll get to meet baby Chelsea.

Lucky Draw

Just now, someone from S'pore Press Holdings called me. She started talking about this contest which I took part in during the Great SG Sale..(i took part in many actually).....then, i realized she was talking abt the "Guess the no of shopping bags in the car" contest, in which I've guessed correctly and won $100 shopping vouchers from Parkway Parade.
Actually, when she told me she's from SPH etc, my heart kinda stopped.....*I thought I had won a car*....
But nvm, maybe the vouchers can come into good use for baby Chelsea..=)
