Love....Japan
It has been almost 2 weeks since I returned from Hokkaido/Tokyo, and it's taking me so long to post something abt this trip. Why ? Because I'm so in love with Japan that I don't know how to put it into words.
I've long heard abt how beautiful and unique Japan is, but one really has to be there to truly appreciate her "culture in modernity" type of beauty. I'm always amazed at how advance their technology is, how teens at Harajuku are so fashionable, yet at the same time, it's a country full of culture and grace.
Hokkaido is not only famous for its seafood, but it's really breath-taking in winter. Just imagine waking up everyday to pure white snow; everywhere you go, there's no traffic jams, people never horn; everywhere is covered in snow, and ultimately, the ski resort is totally unbelievable ! You just see snow-capped mountains all the time....Perhaps it's my first time travelling during winter, hence the excitement upon seeing snow, but there's just something abt Hokkaido that is so special and so beautiful.
Tokyo is a big city, but yet, it's an exciting city.....i stayed at a wonderful hotel with free shuttle bus service to Shinjuku station, making everything so much more pleasant and convenient. I didn't get to see Mt Fuji or Disneyland this time round cuz I only had 2 days...2 days to cover Tokyo ? Mission Impossible ! Hence, i could only manage some shopping places, but that's enough to keep me wanting for more.
It's the first time I actually felt like crying upon leaving a place. At Hokkaido airport while waiting for transit flight to Tokyo, there's this feeling of sadness...and at Narita airport, while waiting to come back to Singapore, I practically dragged my feet along. I just didn't feel like leaving.........
2008 is coming...and I'll like to visit Japan again.
