Bye Bye Miss Heng

Miss Heng's farewell dinner took place on 28th Dec at Orchard Hotel grand ballroom. It was a night where old girls, ex teachers, old classmates all met up together to celebrate and give our best wishes to one of the greatest principals of all times.
Who is Miss Heng ? She took on the job of Principal of SCGS in 1979, and retires in 2006, making it 27 yrs of super long service. I was terrified of her when i entered Sec1, but soon to realize that she is actually a caring, loving yet firm Principal. She always made sure the correct values are taught and carried by SCGS girls. She gives us all her love.
She was my Principal when i was a student, and still my Principal when i entered teaching. With her around, there's always a sense of warmth and security. We are so protected by her. It came as no surprise that all of us cried when she announced her retirement.
The school choir composed a song entitled "My Principal". Here's the lyrics:
*My Principal
The foundation of the School
How you did it, we don't have a clue
The exercise book that fell from the sky
As Miss Heng was passing by
The cement that came from the call
Now we have a hall school life's a ball
Goodbye's not the end
We will see you yet again
Because you are our friend, our Principal
My Principal
Nurturing students, that's your flair
You pour in your love and all your care
Though we may be too much to bear
And you have grown lots of white hair
But you still look twenty, I swear, my Principal
Friends may not meet all the time
But we share memories that will bind
In gems of history we'll find, Our Principal
Indeed, we all love Miss Heng, and Miss Heng will always be Miss Heng.

HK encounters

It was such a lovely trip to HK this time round. I went alone in 2001, and now 5 yrs down the road, with Kit Kit beside me, this is one of the most wonderful trips of my life.

To make things very much better to begin with, we were upgraded to Business Class on Cathay Pacific ! Yupz...when i handed them my boarding pass, the lady said, "oh, you have a change in seat"...and zipped me and Kit Kit off to the Biz class section ! Woo Hoo ! And to top it all, cuz the night before our departure was the Star Awards....i kept telling kit kit that maybe one of the TVB stars wil take the same flight with us back to HK. He thinks I'm crazy...but but...Xuan Xuan was really sitting behind us ! Ahhhh.too bad i only realized when we were getting off the plane, but it sure was a good thing to start the trip.

And our hotel (Nathan Hotel), though small, gives me a cosy feeling. The people are very nice too, and the convenient location (3 min from Jordan MTR) makes everything so much more possible. We managed to catch 3 TVB shows every night. "高朋满座,东方之珠,赌场风云". Cool !
Disneyland is small, but that being my first Disneyland experience, I really dun mind.

All in all, we managed to hit Disneyland, Ocean Park, Mong Kok (all the streets of shopping), Tsim Sha Tsui, Ave of Stars, Causeway Bay, ate desserts at 许留山, ate dim sum at 莲香楼 etc etc...

Just some pics to share with all.

I simply have to take this 2 pics..my long awaited show with my 2 top fav actors.

This was taken on the escalators from Central to Mid-levels...finally had dinner at SOHO area.

Since I can't meet the real guy, might as well take a pic of his hands...

Yeah....finally..Photo with Donald Duck !
