NDP 2006

Brought the P5 girls to NE show yesterday (National Education show). It was amazing !
Somehow, i really like this yr's NDP, and it was really touching to see the whole stadium covered in a sea of red. It made the whole place so Singapore !
Of cuz, there were the usual parade, the fireworks, the show, the Red Lions (my fav) and the F16 fighter planes.
I only managed to reach home at 10.30pm, ate my dinner at 11.15pm, but i had fun though i was tiring.

Gown Fitting

Went along to Vivian's gown fitting last night. Actually, was kinda tired after a long day's work, but the thought of seeing her and Yvonne kept me awake.
It's such a joy to see Vivian putting on the gown. I've always prayed that she'll find someone nice and sweet, for she herself is nice and sweet. Indeed, God is great, for He's led Ben to her, and i think they'll have a beautiful marriage blessed with God's love.
It's dinner and more catching up with them after the fitting session. As i left for the carpark, it's rather late, so Yvonne said, " SMS me when you reach your car."
A casual remark, but it let me went home with a smile.

Start Saving

Recently, I've started using skincare brands found in Watsons/Guardian...i've stopped buying stuff from those cosmetic brands...
I really think i need to start saving, and the best and 1st way to start is through my skincare products. I did some simple calculations, and realized how much i could have saved over de yrs if I've used cheaper skincare...one cleanser from Bioessence is maybe around $8, whereas one from Origins is $33, and if one is to get more up-class brands like SKII, it's $69 for their treatment cleanser. See ? Look at the amt i've spent over the yrs !! And my skincare regime is like 4-5 steps...cleanse-tone-serum-moisturise...so, what on earth have i done ???
Oh well, i need to get used to it. I think it's just a matter of time...i used to feel like i'll have outbreak etc if i switch to economical skincare, and it did kinda happened (mildly), as i think my skin is too conditioned to comfort and high-class products. But it turns ok overtime. So i guess it's just me and my mindset.
Anyway, i think Olay Total Effects is rather good...heheee..=)
Just hope I'll stick to my resolution and see some savings on the way.

We are the Champions

What a night ! Or should i say morning ?
When France scored the penalty, i was devastated...i shut my eyes and didn't feel like watching anymore...but Kit Kit says, "Still early"....then, Italy equalized ! That was such a moment of relief and joy for me !
Seriously, I think penalty shootout is not a very nice way to end a competition, for usually, lady luck somehow plays an impt role, skills is more secondary. And knowing that Italy had to go to a penalty shootout with France was bad news...as Italy has never been lucky in this area. They lost 4 out of 5 shootouts. In 1994, they lost to Brazil in the finals, and poor Baggio was like the most hated and scorned person ever for his kick that flew up into the sky. I held my breath throughout the whole shootout, and i was so overjoyed when they won it this time round. My mom said i jumped till the whole house was shaking. A bit exaggerating, but yes, i was too thrilled...
I have been an ardent fan and supporter of Italy since Sec1. Yes, i know i've said i also support Holland, but the main reason was because of the coach Van Basten haha, but i do know that it's not easy for a young team like them to win this time round. Anyway, even before i started watching EPL, i was watching Italian league, that's how i got to know players like Van Basten etc...somehow, out of so many European teams, i only have eyes for Italy. Of cuz, their hot looks and hot bods are just some of the factors...i am most impressed by their defence. They used to play defensive football, but it's good to see them attacking more this WC. But at the same time, their defence is still solid, with Cannavaro as the main pillar of strength. This Italian team is one of the best and most balanced team ever, and i really think they deserve to win the trophy.
This is a team that I've been supporting since so many yrs ago, and it was such immense joy to see them lift the trophy this morning.
How i wish i was there to witness this moment live !
What a month ! It's all ended too fast....i don't really know what to watch anymore..besides my CSI dosage, i've been watching WC non-stop everyday for the past month. I've been marathoning till 5am every morning for the past month. Now, i have to wait for 4 more yrs.
Whatever it is, Italy has won, and i think i'll never forget the night's events and joy for a long long time.
Below are some wonderful moments captured:

Buffon the world's best and most expensive goal-keeper
Cannavaro, Italy's captain and solid defender. Also won the FIFA silver ball award. Ironically, the golden ball award went to Zidane who was shown the red card.

And last but most importantly, the World Cup belongs to ITALY !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kit Kit always says i'm from another era...why ? cuz the people and things i like are all from the past. Eg, i only like soccer players from the past, and i've been watching World Cup moments on channel 27 everyday....i've watched so many times (they somehow keep repeating), that i can even memorize what they're gonna say next.
I really don't know why, but my mind is still filled with Roberto Baggio, Dennis Bergkemp, Van Basten (of cuz) etc etc...it's like, they are from like the 80s, and maybe early 90s, now people are talking abt Christiano Ronaldo, Caca, Rooney, Messi, Klose, Ballack...blah blah blah...why i didn't mention Beckham ? Cuz he's not as young and generation Y as these players. I first saw Beckham when i was in JC1, and i liked him immediately.
Anyway...of all these young and upcoming stars...nobody caught my eye....maybe the closest is Shevchenko...but he's not too young......so maybe i simply belong to the past.
Oh well, i'm quite in love with Shevchenko actually.....

Flickr

This is a test post from flickr, a fancy photo sharing thing.
I'm in elation today........
I watched only the first half of the match, fell asleep, then suddenly at 5.30am...i heard people screaming "goal" !! so i quickly woke up n switched on the TV, and to my happiness, Italy was leading 1-0 at extra time. In fact, 29min into extra time....just when Germany was trying to get an equalizer, Italy somehow managed to flick the ball over to their side again, and Del Peiro netted in the winning goal...all these in 2 min, all these in extra time, all these that broke the Germans' hearts.
I was screaming all the way...simply too happy for words. Pure class !
Italy go go go !!

My last hope

With Holland, Argentina, England out.....i can only pin my hopes on Italy now...
I am a no 1 fan of Italy and Holland, thus heart-break for me when Holland was kicked out by Portugal. Luckily, Italy made it all the way...but it's a bit worrying as they'll be meeting Germany...personally, i think Italy is a more well-rounded team, with good attackers and solid defence. However, it's a tough fight, esp when you're fighting against the host country....esp when the host country is getting better and better. Gone are their days of boring soccer, now they're playing soccer at quite a fast speed...which is a refreshing change, and a pose a tough challenge to Italy.
Wed 3am....i'll know if Italy will go through.
Till then....
